The purpose of the La Casa Cultural Latina Co-Sponsorship Fund is the allocation of monetary resources and in-kind services for culture-specific events, lectures and workshop opportunities focused on Latina/o communities and students. The goal is to further cultural awareness, encourage diversity, and promote collaboration between La Casa and RSOs.
Programs must meet the purpose of the La Casa Cultural Latina Co-Sponsorship Fund as stated above.
Requests for speakers or performers must include biographical and/or press release information.
Please see the University’s policy regarding honorariums for additional information. Individuals to receive an honorarium must complete a Vendor Information Form before payment can be made. Indicate on the form if the payee is not a U.S. citizen.
Payments for professional/artistic services must be made directly by the sponsoring RSO through their RSO account. Contracts must be arranged and approved by the RSO office before the event occurs. La Casa will not process any vendor contracts on behalf of the sponsoring RSO.
Please be aware that any entity (e.g. entertainers, caterers, etc.) that does business with the University is required to have adequate insurance coverage to protect both the vendor and the University in the event of a liability claim. La Casa Co-Sponsorship Fund may not be used to pay any vendor not in compliance with these policies. Please see Campus Risk Management for further details.
The maximum amount La Casa Co-Sponsorship Fund will allocate to a RSO is $200 per semester and no more than 75% of a program’s budget will be funded. Each organization shall be expected to share the expenses for funded programs, services, and activities through its own resources. Applications that have indicated other sources of funding (e.g. SORF, SCPF, PCC, academic and student affairs units, etc.) will receive greater consideration.
All advertisements, flyers, brochures, newsletters, etc., of events funded by the La Casa Co-Sponsorship Fund must have the following phrase printed on them: Co-sponsored by La Casa Cultural Latina. Failure to do so may result in the withdrawal of funding.
There must be at least 2 (two) staff members (students and or Professional) and a minimum of 50% + 1 of LCASO representatives present during the meetings to have quorum. Allocation voting can only occur if quorum is met.
La Casa Cultural Latina Co-Sponsorship Fund Committee will make recommendations to the La Casa Assistant Directors for funding of the programs. The Assistant Directors will make the final approval. Funding is NOT guaranteed until the Assistant Directors give final approval. Any commitments made by the applicant prior to final approval are at the risk of the applicant.
Co-sponsorship requests must be submitted by 5 p.m. on the Friday before the next LCASO meeting.
Any application submitted past 5 p.m. will be held until the following allocation hearing if the date of the event falls within the designation time frame for that allocation hearing.
Applications must be completed online.
Each student organization is limited to 1 application per semester. Extra applications will be accepted if funds are available.
Only one application for an event will be considered.
The funding committee reserves the right to refuse any incomplete applications for review. Submitting a detailed budget for your event is important. The La Casa Cultural Latina Co-Sponsorship Fund Committee will make allocation decisions based upon the line item expenses listed in the application budget.
