Today, the White House has formally announced the decision to rescind the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, affecting nearly 800,000 people who were brought to the US as children. While we are just beginning to understand the full impact of this announcement, and the uncertainty created by it, this threat to our undocumented and DACA students is a call for us to support, listen to, and advocate for them.
All OIIR centers are open and ready to talk to any student, staff, or faculty member affected by the recent news about DACA. Additional information will also be posted at open.illinois.edu.
